AdvantageVoiceSM blog named among top five in the industry

SAN FRANCISCO—AdvantageVoice, the Wells Fargo Advantage Funds blog, has been named among the top five blogs in the asset management industry by consulting firm kasina in its 2011 study of social media leaders. The blog, which launched in December 2010, offers fresh, reliable analysis of breaking market news; ideas about investing trends; and economic insights—all with an earnest invitation to join the conversation. The level of exchange between blog writers and readers sets AdvantageVoice apart from other industry blogs and has proven to be one of the key aspects of the site’s appeal.

“We are thrilled that AdvantageVoice has been named one of the best blogs in the industry, and we view this recognition as validation of our deliberate efforts to engage in conversation with investors at every opportunity,” said Karla Rabusch, president of Wells Fargo Funds Management, LLC. “As investors increasingly migrate to social media, the blog is a great forum for us to communicate more extensively and effectively with the investment community.”

In its study, kasina rated the blogs of 45 asset managers. The firm used a three-part methodology that scored blogs on the availability and quality of features and user experience. AdvantageVoice visitors can count on the consistency and reliability of the subject matters addressed in blog posts, which are updated frequently—as often as several times a day as news happens.

“Whether you are a novice investor or a regular follower of market events, by reading AdvantageVoice, you can gain a better understanding of stocks, bonds, and economic trends,” said Jeremy Ryan, managing editor of social media for Wells Fargo Funds Management. “We write about traditional investment-oriented material, such as how policy affects the economy and investment strategies that our portfolio managers are using. But we also write about off-beat topics, such as interesting start-ups, robots, Ph.D. proliferation, and many others—all put into some sort of market context.”

AdvantageVoice is different from other fund firm blogs in several compelling ways:

  • Open dialogue: We treat our comment section as a critical element of the blog's value and success. We know that readers are interested in engaging in the conversation, offering their own interpretations, and telling stories that contribute to the day's news. We rapidly and personally respond to their comments about the topics most relevant and interesting to them.
  • Personality: Contributors to the blog are thoughtful and articulate with engaging personalities, and the tone of our posts is informative, yet accessible and conversational.
  • Differentiated content: Readers can access and interact with us on popular content, including our award-winning Daily AdvantageSM newsletter (now in its 10th year); selections from our weekly podcast, On the Trading DeskSM; and market updates, economic analyses, investing strategies, and reader polls.
